Apple has this covered in the new tablet they are releasing. Why read just books when you will be able to watch movies, watch tv or read your favorite website. Nobody wants technology built for one. Howard, you know I am hardly ever wrong on technology picks. Yes on books going to tablet, no on kindle being the one that takes it there.

The tech is great, the hate comes from the odious license restrictions. Short of giving up your Kindle reader, there's no legal way to lend/give/donate/share a book after I'm done with it.

[...] Amazon Kindle…I Want One! Way too many haters. Waaaay. The nerds hate it. Gooood. They hated the iPod. They hate themselves. Amazon snookered all the nerds on Techmeme to write about it. Classic. Like anyone in mainstream America cares what Scoble and Arrington have to say. Age is killing the book industry. I get through two… [...]

I don't get the hate either. I think the name could be better and it's not as asthetically pleasing as it could be. But I do love the concept and I hope it goes through some refinements and a price cut in a few years.

Lastly Amazon better add comics and manga to the Kindle in the future. It seems only natural and seems like a group that would embrace something like that.

Mhen my wife asks me what I want for Christmas I've told her that I don't need anything, since she gave me the gift that keeps on giving a few years ago - a kidney. This year I just might tell her I want one of those Amazon thingamabobs. neat stuff!
