After a long slog, Barack Obama may finally be on the cusp of securing his party’s nomination. But in the race for online video views, it was never even close (below). While countless variables are at play here, it can be safely inferred that a lot of Obama’s success is due to his attracting a younger, internet-savvy demographic, as well as having several of the most viral videos of the campaign (including the 1984 Apple spoof and the “Yes We Can” music video, including a recent successful “Podemos con Obama” follow-up–none of which were created by the campaign). Ron Paul captured a similar demographic, so much so that as of today he still has more cumulative views than Clinton. Of course, no one can compete with Chris Brown music videos (in blue below).

How does all of this affect the race? For one, online video views appear to correlate strongly with campaign contributions, which we here at TubeMogul outlined in a study earlier in the campaign.

I have added some cool bloggers and links to my blogroll.

The goal continues to be to find bloggers and links that help me run my business, improve my skills and increase my knowledge. They have really helped me understand trends which I am writing about.

Real Clear Politics is a cool buzz tracker site for politics. I have no political insight, but Alan Warms and his team at Participate Media have created a smart political news portal that I use as a place to start every morning.

Seth Goldstein writes a cool Venture blog. He is successful which obviously matters and I like reading him.

I was linked to a cool post that is a starting point for finding “The” complete list of Venture Bloggers. It was organized by Andrew Fife, himself and entrepreneur. I have posted it as a deeper starting point for entrepreneurs looking for hints and insight. I hope it helps you as well.

I have added two new sections – COOL internet businesses and My Fave Products. As hype spreads that we are in a bubble 2.0, I continue to find unbelieveable business ideas that are starting to thrive and products that I use which are cool. It is a place for me to organize these.

I expected to be underwhelmed based on the hype.

I was treated to a great “Apple” commercial :) (it never seems cheesy to see an Apple laptop used in a movie – even if it is blatant)

Besides the commercial, I think Al did a great job presenting the global warming case. It did not come across like a fear pitch, but a calm, deliberate, well documented argument. Using the photos and the “breakout graphs” was extremely effective. It is not a funny topic yet he was funny.

What the hell was he doing by the way while he was Vice President for 8 years and Bill was chasing tail? Seems like he had ample opportunity to sneak in a few things with Bill’s signature. That is my only criticism.

If anything, GM and Ford are so f@$#cked. They are the poster child companies for all that is wrong with saving “DEAD companies” in a free world. The greater good is served over time by letting the strong survive at this point.

The jobs will be replaced if you believe in America.

If we can clean up the auto industry once and for all, we could really attack the global warming issue as well as the oil and fuel issues. I don’t want to argue this. I am right.

If only we could beam ourselves and get rid of the airlines, all would be good.
