CNBC.com goes live – Great banner ads!

Another Times Square looking website. It would be cooler if they just had a live picture of the Morgan Stanley building in Times Square with the ticker running.
Instead they had people build this.
Another smart move is Windows Media Player for the videos – NOT!
Really insulting to the people that care about such things. I was hoping to see something cool and unique and am truly disappointed. Very Web 1.0.
UPDATE – The pre launch was worthy of Mike Arrington TechCrunch write-up. If he had a pre-look and considers this worthy of Web 2.0 – whatever. He expected it to be compelling. What say ye Mike?
