Google and YouTube – Now that the deal is done and everybody is GAGA – should you SELL THE NEWS?

If I owned Google stock today, I would be selling some. It has acted perfectly for you. Take some profits. Need histroical proof of big mergers gone stale:

AOL/Time Warner (train wreck)

Ebay/Skype (I still believe)

Bush/Cheney (short)

All the biggie tech mergers have been duds – in the case of Bush/Cheney (boozetech)

I was unaware that Om Malik was a skeptic on the deal, but he rights himself quickly with this mea culpa . That is why I trust Om when it comes to my tech news and opinions.

I thought mark Cuban was wrong. Wrong about the fact that someone would want YouTube. BUT it is quite possible that he will be right in the long-run. Do not ignore billionaires over the long-run! As I told my partner Adam earlier, with the Mavs in the off-season and an ego the size of a Chipotle’s burrito, Cuban might have been fishing for headlines.

Buying and integrating and making 1+1=3 is the tough part. Now comes the real work. The hard work.

It was a fun day though if you are YouTube. Congrats.
