Lifelock Bashing…Yawn

I got a few phone calls this afternoon telling me that Dylan Ratigan was bashing Lifelock on CNBC this afternoon. I emailed him to tell him he was wrong. Interestingly enough, I was down at Lifelock’s HQ grabbing a bite with one of their marketing young guns.
I just searched CNBC.com for the video and can’t find it (please send the link if you can…Bueller??). Even if I could, I would need software from Pluto to be loaded so that CNBC video would work on my Mac. But this post is not about Microsoft or CNBC Bashing (though they are partners in irrelevance to their industries), as they are excellent cash machines from their ad selling abilities.
As a gesture of my goodwill, I will even link to CNBC.com for their link to last weeks announcement that Lifelock just had Google’s CFO, George Reyes, to join their 6 member board . Nice.
The bashing is good at some level as the ill informed will later become customers. Lot’s of Apple, Google and Facebook bashing for the last few years as they grew.
Identity theft is a lottery. The bad news is you don’t want to win this lottery and your chances of winning are increasing daily. Lifelock’s biggest enemies are the freaking guys who created most of the identity theft problems you face today.
Lifelock is a company that you NEVER want to hear from again after you sign up. If you do, you have a problem.
All things considered, best you make the call and sign up and than hope you don’t hear from them. Best deal on the web, by far. Use my name when you sign up and get a good discount.
PS – So funny that Dylan Ratigan appeared on a Wallstrip sponsored by Lifelock…on his being a porn addict no less…
