Obama and Luxottica on Wallstrip

If Obama was a stock, would he be NASDAQ or NYSE and what would his ticker symbol be?

I was sitting with Jon Labes (Wallstrip), Obama Girl and Ben Relles, the creator of the hit internet video ” I’ve Got a Crush on Obama ” in New York last week and trying to think of a stock that rhymed with Obama. Why should’nt we ride on their viral buzz . Two million views and 7,000 comments on YouTube.

Lucky that Luxottica bought Oakley that day and was on my mind. The Wallstrip team did a great job melding pop culture, stocks and politics today in a very fast manner from concept to execution. Really fast…and hysterical. The dancing Lindsay.

Luxottica has been cranking. It has snuck up on the all-time high list and it has a certain style, much like Obama. The buy of Oakley fills a much needed chink in Luxottica’s armor…fashion meets technology (one of my favorite themes).

I am excited about the potential of the combined entity. I still think Oakley is being bought cheap, but a week later and no new suitors.
