Personal Finance 2.0

I am not sold on social networks and stock picking, at least the message board and digg copycat solutions.

We are starting to see the convergence of Personal Finance and Social Networking and that has way more potential.

We live in a money culture. A vast majority are ALWAYS worried about it. Combining social networking with personal finance is a logical extension. If a million yahoo’s will watch Suze Orman spew her credit card and mattress message, there must be a way for a conversation to happen (without her).

The Wall Street Jounal has a good piece outlining a lot of the new players and is a good reference point to start your research .

With Wallstrip, I committed to the space. There will be much trial and error.

I think less is more in this space. People make it too complicated. Ideas are always welcome.

  • "there must be a way for a conversation to happen"

I created WeLoveSuze.com not too long ago for this purpose. There are lots of sites out there where people talk about her style of finance but I wanted to bring a lot of these bloggers and forum junkies together. I've put you in the Who's Blogging Suze? section there. Cheers.

  • As society continues to evolve with innovation and technology, younger generations are getting savvier. There is a greater demand for higher education in order to get good paying jobs that require more skills. Also, people now a day cannot sit back and think they will be taken care of by pensions and social security in their old age.
