Today is the inaugural PAIRED TRADE contest.
Submit your choices in the comments section. I will track the results in my sidebar.
I think paired trades is dorky in practice but fun for a contest.
Mine is Long Apple and Short Netflix.
UPDATE – Trader Mike is asking a lot of questions that only a smart Stanford guy would ask. It will be a cool gadget prize (used if I lose) and it ends december 31st. So, anyone can win. There is no skill involved – unless I win.
Long: ORNG, Short: OO. Give me six months!
I love OO but I tend to agree. You are on the cadillac board
what’s the prize?
A used ipod and a pair of CROX (knockoffs).
Come on Mike
what the heck,I’ll try a difficult trade
LONG: ACW
SHORT: X
I can’t find anything good to pair with Hansen so I’ll just use Coke.
Long: KO
Short: HANS
Yes, I know shorting one of the strongest stocks in the market is suicidal but what the hell, it’s not like I have real money on the line. :-)
Fred Wilson has just pinged me that he is going Long Yahoo and Short Time Warner.
He has put it on for real as well.
Long: PSQ
Short: QLD
Tee Hee.
Needless to say, I am not a big fan of paired trades either. The only thing they seem to hedge out for me are gains!
I’ll throw in my 2 cents
Long: FCEL
Short: FTO
Just for kicks
Give me long on PG and short on UNA
Hows that OO holding up after earnings? Great brand, but a company that just dosen’t get it. I’m a 24 year old surfer/skater/media professional from California. If I’m their target market somebody please help them.
Eddie – right you are. On March 30, when I sold my stock, I posted about the exact problem. You can do a search on my site
Long VRSO
Short TIE
I think the titanium metals short is self-evident. As for VRSO, its either headed for the pink sheets or to the moon.
Long CRM, Short MSFT …yes to software as service, no to trying to steer the titanic through troubled waters.
Welcome to my blog mr. feedburner himself.
Love the product and hope you check back in.
Long MSFT Short GOOG
Long SBUX
Short GOOG
Long CSX
Short GOOG
Long JDSU
Short MNCS
Whoops…both are against the trend, and MNCS likely against the “rules” since it’s an OTCBB likely pump and dump…
But I want that broken IPOD!!!
