China…Shmina

I am not a China fan. Never been there.  No real interest. I can get smog and bad Chinese food in L.A. I do like Baidu.

I am not a Japan fan. I have been to Japan.  Cool toilets.  Average sushi. Too far away.

I invest in America.  I can look outside and see my shit.  The accounting is crooked, but it’s MY accounting.

My friend Steve sums up my opinions on the Google $goog threatening to back out of China .

I like chaos. It’s good for markets. America has been licking some Chinese nuts for quite some time and they own us in most ways. Baidu owns Google in China anyway so a great PR move by the Googster.

This will make things interesting for a few weeks and if you like Google stock you can own it $45 lower than last week.

This blog is ghey. You say you don't like china, but like BIDU huh?
  • My preferred mix: ME, local, state, national and global investments (after ME the order varies). Push the ideals I believe will win, by betting on them with cash, marketing, using, & attention.
  • Well said
  • Yes, Japan has very cool toilets! :)

There is nothing more comforting than going to the store you own stock in & seeing crowds either gain or wane. It gives you a great sense of the business.

as tweeted yesterday short goog, though bullish long term too
  • "I can look outside and see my shit." Awesome line.

    Well said.
  • It's like that line (from some movie I can't remember), "I like the Earth, it's where all my stuff is."
  • Agreed! These emotions will revert and Google will snap back. Playing it from the spread angle (GOOG-BIDU). I like the point you make about PR move. You are on to something.
